The Vienna Psychoanalytic Outpatient Clinic is an entity of the Vienna Psychoanalytic Society offering initial consultations and treatment free of charge on account of concluded agreements with the social insurance agencies. In the context of the initial consultations, patients are provided the opportunity to make a first acquaintance with psychoanalysis to determine their suitability for the different forms of psychoanalytic therapy. They are then referred to psychoanalysts or psychoanalytic psychotherapists at the clinic or in private practice, or to “low fee” treatments with psychoanalysts in training under supervision in private practice.

The Child and Adolescent Unit of the Vienna Psychoanalytic Outpatient Clinic specializes in the diagnosis, consultation and treatment of infants, children and adolescents facing psychological problems and in the consultation of parents. Here too, the first step is to establish whether a psychoanalytic treatment is indicated. Subsequently, children and their families are referred to appropriate therapists or treated at the Clinic.
